In these eucalyptus plantations, an area of concern is the growth of weeds occurring in and around the plantation. As part of our community initiative, we offer crop spraying services to these farmers.
At RIG we believe in putting the environment first which includes habitats and biodiversity’s thereof. Of recent, we have delved into the supply of young green poles (eucalyptus) to the aluminium industry. These young green poles have been coppiced pruned by the local community hereby creating jobs. This method of “coppicing” is whereby a tree or shrub is cut down to near ground level, which encourages vigorous growth of young shoots.
